Chocolate bites are the 1 g cousin of our full-size 3 g bars: individually wrapped single-serving psilocybin chocolates, perfect for staggered dosing, sharing in small groups, travel, or first-time users who want a clearly-defined dose without committing to a whole bar. Each bite is divided into four pre-scored 250 mg squares, so you can take a 250 mg microdose, a 500 mg mini-dose, or the full 1 g bite in a single sitting.
The case for the 1g bite format
A full 3 g chocolate bar is a lot of psilocybin to keep open in a household cupboard, particularly if you live with roommates, children, or pets. The individually-wrapped bite format solves three problems at once: it caps the maximum accidentally-ingestible dose at 1 g (well below the threshold for an overwhelming experience in adults, though still a hospital trip for a child or dog — keep these locked away), it makes accurate dosing trivial for users who do not own a kitchen scale, and it makes microdose distribution among friends a clean transaction rather than an awkward "I broke off your share, hope I cut it evenly" moment. The wrapper is opaque foil-lined kraft that survives a backpack, a glove compartment, or a hotel-room drawer without telegraphing what is inside.
Flavour lineup
Bites are produced in the same kitchen as our full bars and use the same Belgian-style couverture chocolate base. Current flavours include Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate (70%), Mint, Cookies & Cream, Salted Caramel, and seasonal rotations (typically a holiday peppermint in December and a strawberry-cream variant in spring). Every flavour uses the same Golden-Teacher-base powder at the same 1 g loading, so the dosing math is identical across the lineup.
Dosing a 1g bite
The 4-square pre-score gives 250 mg granularity. A practical dosing menu for bites: 1 square (250 mg) = a slightly heavier microdose, still sub-perceptual for most adults but noticeable in mood; 2 squares (500 mg) = a mini-dose suitable for a creative work block or a social evening; 3 squares (750 mg) = the low end of recreational, gentle visual texture and emotional softness; 4 squares / full bite (1 g) = a solid low-recreational experience, music-and-nature-walk territory but not a "trip." For a full visual recreational experience, take two bites (2 g) or step up to one of the larger bar formats.
Why bites are the best first-time format
If this is your first time trying psilocybin in any form, we recommend starting with a single 1 g bite split into 250 mg squares over a single afternoon. Take the first square, wait 90 minutes, evaluate how you feel, and only re-dose if you genuinely want more. This staggered approach lets you discover your personal sensitivity (which varies by an order of magnitude between individuals) without the commitment of a fixed pre-measured dose. Roughly 15% of adults are unusually sensitive to psilocybin and feel a full recreational experience from what would be a sub-recreational dose for most people; staggered bite dosing is the safest way to find out which group you fall into.
Travel, hotels and discreet use
The bite format is purpose-built for travel within Canada. The individual wrappers are odour-sealed, the chocolate is visually indistinguishable from any commercial confectionery, and the 1 g dose-per-unit keeps any single piece comfortably below most users' threshold for visible impairment. We do not recommend, condone, or take legal responsibility for crossing international borders with any psilocybin product — both Canadian and foreign customs treat psilocybin as a controlled substance and the consequences of an interdiction are real. For domestic travel between Canadian provinces by car, train or domestic flight, the practical risk is essentially zero, but the format makes discretion easy regardless.
Pricing and bulk savings
Bites are priced per unit with a sliding discount that rewards multi-pack orders: a single bite, a 5-pack, a 10-pack and a 20-pack are all available, with the 20-pack landing at roughly 35% off the single-bite price per gram. For households that microdose regularly, the 20-pack is the most economical entry into the chocolate format short of stepping up to full 3 g bars.
Discreet Canada-wide shipping from Toronto
Every Shroomyz order is packed the same business day when placed before 2 p.m. ET and handed to Canada Post for Xpresspost delivery the following morning. We ship from a climate-controlled facility in Toronto to every postal code in Canada — from downtown Vancouver condos to fly-in communities in Nunavut. Tracking numbers are emailed automatically once your package leaves our facility, and the typical door-to-door window is 1–2 business days for Ontario, 2–3 days for Quebec, the Prairies and the Maritimes, and 3–5 days for British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
Packaging is the most common question we get, and the answer is simple: there is nothing on the outside of the box that identifies the contents, the sender, or the category of product. We use plain kraft mailers and rigid boxes labelled with a neutral return address (a registered Toronto business name, not "Shroomyz"). Inside, products are vacuum-sealed in odour-barrier mylar, padded with biodegradable kraft, and surrounded by activated carbon liners that neutralise any residual mushroom aroma. Drivers, neighbours, mailroom staff and roommates have no way of knowing what is in the box.
Orders over $250 ship free with full tracking and signature-optional delivery; smaller orders carry a flat $20 Xpresspost fee. If a package is delayed beyond five business days past the Canada Post quoted window, we re-ship at our cost — no questions, no police reports, no insurance hoops. In the rare case a shipment is marked "delivered" but never arrives, we open a Canada Post trace and re-ship within 48 hours of confirmation. That reshipment guarantee is the single biggest reason our repeat-customer rate sits north of 60%.
Payment: Interac e-Transfer and Bitcoin only
Shroomyz accepts two payment methods and only two: Interac e-Transfer for Canadian bank customers, and Bitcoin (BTC) for customers who prefer cryptocurrency. We do not process credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or third-party "buy now pay later" rails. Card networks classify psilocybin as a prohibited substance under their merchant agreements, so any store that claims to accept Visa or Mastercard for magic mushrooms is either lying about what is in the box or about to have their merchant account frozen mid-order. We would rather give you two payment methods that always work than five payment methods that fail at checkout.
Interac e-Transfer is the simpler option for most Canadians. After you place the order you receive an email with our current send-to address, a unique reference code, and an auto-deposit security question. The funds clear in under five minutes on every major Canadian bank (RBC, TD, Scotiabank, BMO, CIBC, National Bank, Desjardins, Tangerine, Simplii, Wealthsimple Cash and most credit unions). Auto-deposit means there is no security question to guess and no two-hour delay — the transfer lands, our system marks the order paid, and the warehouse pulls the pick ticket immediately.
Bitcoin is the option of choice for customers who value privacy or who live in a household where an Interac transfer to an unfamiliar email might raise questions. After checkout we email a fresh BTC address generated specifically for your order, the exact BTC amount (priced at the moment of order placement and held for 30 minutes), and a QR code you can scan from any wallet. We accept on-chain payments from Coinbase, Kraken, Newton, Bitbuy, Shakepay, Wealthsimple, Cash App, Strike, Ledger, Trezor and any self-custody wallet. The order moves to "paid" after one confirmation (typically 10 minutes) and ships the same business day if confirmation lands before 2 p.m. ET.
Lab testing and quality control
Every batch that lands in our Toronto facility goes through a three-stage quality program before it touches a vacuum sealer. Stage one is visual and olfactory inspection by our intake team — mushrooms with discoloured stems, blue-black bruising indicative of degraded psilocybin, or any visible mould are rejected on arrival and never enter inventory. Stage two is HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) quantification of psilocybin and psilocin content by a third-party Health-Canada-certified analytical lab. We require a minimum of 0.7% combined psilocybin + psilocin by dry weight for any cubensis batch, and 1.2%+ for premium "potent" classifications like Penis Envy and Albino Penis Envy. Stage three is contaminant screening: heavy metals (arsenic, lead, cadmium, mercury) by ICP-MS, pesticide residue by GC-MS, and microbial load (total aerobic count, yeast/mould, E. coli, salmonella) by membrane filtration. A batch that fails any single contaminant threshold is destroyed, not "re-sold cheaper" — there is no Tier 2 Shroomyz product.
Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) from each batch are stored against the batch number printed on the bottom of every mylar pouch, jar, bar wrapper and gummy tube. If you want to verify a specific batch, email the batch number to support@shroomyzcanada.ca and we will reply within one business day with the original PDF CoA. We are one of a small handful of Canadian psilocybin retailers that publish lot-level CoAs on request, and we plan to roll out QR-code-linked CoAs on every package by the end of next year.
Safety, contraindications and harm-reduction
Psilocybin is among the most physiologically benign psychedelics on the planet — there is no known lethal dose for an adult human, no evidence of organ toxicity at recreational ranges, and no addictive potential. That said, "safe" is not the same as "appropriate for everyone." Do not combine psilocybin with lithium (risk of seizures), MAOI antidepressants (unpredictable interactions), Tramadol (serotonin-syndrome risk), or large quantities of alcohol or stimulants. SSRIs and SNRIs blunt the psychedelic effect but are not considered dangerous in combination at recreational doses; if you are tapering off an SSRI to experience a fuller mushroom journey, do so under medical supervision and allow 2–6 weeks of washout depending on the molecule.
Personal and family history of schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar I, or psychotic depression is a genuine contraindication. Psilocybin can unmask latent psychotic conditions in genetically predisposed individuals, and a single bad experience can become a years-long mental-health setback. If you have any of those diagnoses (or a first-degree relative with one), skip this product category entirely and consult a psychiatrist with psychedelic training before reconsidering. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and active cardiovascular disease are also reasons to wait. For everyone else, follow the cardinal harm-reduction rules: known dose, known source, sober trip-sitter for higher doses, comfortable setting, no driving for 12 hours after dosing, and at least 7 days between full experiences to allow 5-HT2A receptor density to recover.
Storage and shelf life
Psilocybin and psilocin are sensitive to three things: heat, light, and oxygen. Stored correctly — vacuum-sealed in mylar at room temperature, away from direct sunlight — every Shroomyz product retains 90%+ of its labelled potency for 12 months from the pack date printed on the seal. For longer storage, transfer the original mylar pouch to a dark cupboard or, better, to a Mason jar with an oxygen absorber packet (food-grade, 100 cc); that pushes shelf life past 24 months without measurable loss. Freezing dried mushrooms is acceptable but unnecessary and can introduce condensation when thawed; refrigeration is not recommended because temperature swings between fridge and counter accelerate moisture migration into the product.
Frequently asked questions
Is buying psilocybin legal in Canada? Psilocybin remains a Schedule III controlled substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Production, distribution and possession are technically prohibited outside of clinical-trial and Section 56 exemption frameworks. Enforcement against personal-use buyers, however, is virtually non-existent: there are no recorded prosecutions of an end-customer for ordering psilocybin online for personal use in Canada in the past five years. Public sentiment, medical research (notably the Johns Hopkins and Imperial College studies), and the federal Special Access Program have shifted the practical landscape dramatically since 2020. We are not lawyers and this is not legal advice — but we are also not aware of any meaningful risk to a Canadian adult ordering for personal use.
How long does shipping take? Same-day dispatch on orders placed before 2 p.m. ET. Xpresspost delivery is typically 1 business day to Ontario, 2 days to Quebec/Maritimes/Prairies, and 3–5 days to BC and the territories. Tracking emailed at dispatch.
What if my package is lost or seized? Reshipment guaranteed at our cost after a 5-business-day Canada Post trace. We have not had a customer-side seizure on a domestic Xpresspost shipment in over three years of operation.
Do I need to leave a signature? Signature is optional by default. If you prefer signature-required delivery, leave a note in the checkout comments and we will upgrade at no charge.
Can I order if I live in a small town or rural area? Yes. Xpresspost delivers to every Canadian postal code including rural routes, general-delivery offices, and northern fly-in communities. Add 1–2 days for remote delivery.
